The Transat Chair in Tourism maintains contact with the tourism industry in several ways. In 1994, the Chair began organizing noontime lectures in partnership with the Hotel Association of Greater Montreal and around 15 Montreal hotels. Dubbed the Gueuletons touristiques, these events offer students, professors and tourism-based businesspeople a light lunch, a lecture on a topic of interest and an informal setting in which to meet and share ideas and information about various issues. These lectures have grown in popularity over the years, proving that they fulfil an industry need. These luncheon-lectures attract over one hundred participants each time.
Presentations are given primarily in French.
